Crossing into Peru

Up and off for 7.30 we left Cuenca and headed south. The journey to the border was lovely with stunning scenery,  difficult to capture in a photo.

Two hours at the border and then we entered Peru. The difference is quite stark, much poorer infra structure, roads buildings etc and litter everywhere on an epic scale.

Punta Sal is a bit like the equivalent of Mallorca, the go to beach destination for many Peruvians. On the up side we camped right on the beach a metre or two from the high tide mark, however cold water showers and dodgey loos added to the fun. More epic sunsets.
We had a lazy day the next day just sunbathing chatting and enjoying the odd tipple or two. Debs cook group did a stirling job of chicken and chorizo kebabs, BBQ’d on the beach over a wood fire.

Early start the next morning……….. up at 3.30am…………… tents down and on the road for 4.30.

We know how to have fun don’t we. 😊

    1. Some long days Dad, but well worth it to see all the stuff we are.

  2. Probably worth putting up with basic facilities with views like that from your tent!
